Serve as a supervisor (Assistant Engine Captain) on a wildland fire engine. Performed wildland fighting work and supervise crews performing such work directly related to wildland fighting work and supervise crews performing such work directly related to wildland suppression and control activities including suppression, preparedness, prevention, monitoring, hazardous fuel reduction, and prescribed burning.
Directed and participated in fireline construction, backfiring and burnout operations, tree falling and holding/patrol/mop-up. Prescribed fire operations including preparation, ignition, and fire data collection.
Ensure correct positioning of engine and crews, starting/priming pump, adjusting engine speed pump valves, laying hose, and using appropriate nozzles and nozzle adjustment in effective use of water and additives
Directed the operation of a wild land fire engine used for initial and extended attack on wildland fire, prescribed fire, and wildland-urban interface incidents. Supervised crew of 2-7 firefighters. Ensured safety of crew members and operations at all times.
Trained and directed others in starting pump engine, priming pump, adjusting engine speed and pump valves, laying hose, and using appropriate nozzles and nozzle adjustment in effective use of water and additives.
Ensured type 6 engine maintained in state of readiness for emergency incident dispatch, including pumps, foam system, and equipment/engine supply inventory.

Provided Incident Command on multiple type-IV & regularly transition with type- III Incident Commander on wildland fire incidents.
Directed ignitions personnel as FIRB on several wildland and complex prescribed fire burning operations.
Appointed Project Leader and Chief of Party for several fuels management, trail construction, and weed management projects. Ensured safe operations, crew motivation, and productiveness throughout all projects. Frequently called on to perform complex/hazardous tree removal on wildfire incidents and at public recreational areas.
Assistant Instructor for S131, S190, S130 and engine crew members. Instructor for S290, S212. Signed task books for regular and “detailed” engine and hand crew members.
Prepared entire Kitchen for evening dinner shift, including food.
Washed, dried, and replaced all dishes in a timely fashion.
Cleaned and maintained entire kitchen post dinner shift.
