Experience
10/2018 to Current
Senior DirectorCompany Name - City, State
  • In my first year, more than doubled my personal fund-raising goal, including the closing of a fully funded, seven figure endowed chair. The endowed chairgift was conceived and closed over the course of four months and three in-person visits.
  • Manage the relationships with three of UH's top four US News ranked institutes including: Neurological Institute (NI), Urology/Nephrology Institute, Transplant Institute, and the Anesthesiology Department. This includes liaising with clinical leadership, supporting colleagues in their gift processes, as well as identifying, documenting, and communicating priorities with my fundraising associates.
  • Led the effort to develop a comprehensive business case for NI naming. The funding brief identified potential donors, advocacy partners, and built engagement strategies using our CEO, CMO, CRO, and clinical leaders. Currently cultivating three families towards a $20M, a $10M, and a $1M-2M gift(s).
  • Strategic advisor on several operational improvement initiatives within Institutional Relations and Development (IRD), including the redesign of the data analytics workflows, accounting for internal privacy rules related to HIPAA, staffing reductions due to COVID, and insufficient internal expertise. Additionally, helped to improve efficiencies on internal workflows by reducing the number of touches per transaction, identified opportunities for automation, and suggested several ways to eliminate redundancies.
  • Volunteered as Team Leader in 2019 and 2020 in two of our five strategic goals for the department. All initiatives met the “maximum threshold” requirements, the highest possible score.

DirectorCompany Name - City, State
  • Raised $11.6M against a $5M goal in last 22-months, closing six, seven, and eight figure gifts.
  • Maintained a donor-centric fundraising approach while delivering a high level of service and support to peers, managers, chair, and the institution.
  • Established a strong donor pipeline, which led to the closure of seven figure gifts out of my portfolio by my teammates after my departure.
  • Leveraged operational background to improve the stewardship process, identify potential workflow modifications to the annual fund, improve the quality of the data used to identify donors, and create tools to economize the process of raising money.
  • Learned the intricacies of different planned giving vehicles in partnership with the Gift Planning Team. Knowledge was leveraged to help develop tools for other officers to use as a field reference. Used those same lessons to proficiently propose and/or close several gift types including: charitable gift annuities, life insurance, CRUTs/CRATs, bequests, stock gifts, and IRA RMDs.
