Accomplishments
  • I learned how to quickly adapt and react to an emergency situations at any given time.
  • Many times the nurses were not available or able to provide comfort to the clients when needed, so I have experience in comforting and re-assuring clients, and calming down people.
  • Skills Used: Strength; I was pretty much always the go-to for heavy lifting or moving, even for some of the residents who were much too large for the nurses to handle.
  • Adaptability: At any given time I had to be able to stop what I was doing and assist in any way I can, and remain calm during emergencies, keep residents calm while re-gaining control of a situation, this is now a second nature to me to always remain calm and focused.
  • Attention to detail: I have had many jobs where paying close attention to detail was a key aspect of my duties, from this I pay attention to every single detail. From the tiles on the floor to the ceiling, a persons body language, their tone, eye language, all of this detail I pay attention to on the daily basis to assist me with my duties.
  • People skills: When I worked in the rest home, a residents family would be very upset for any given reason, sometimes even the resident themselves and the staff would not be able to help them, I often found myself to be the one capable of calming them down and re-assuring them, I have become quite excellent at people skills and de-escalating situations.
