1999-2003 Created and implemented “Mountains to the Sea”, a statewide, interdisciplinary program designed to connect 1000 students from the three regions of the state (Gates, Wake and Jackson counties) to learn our state’s geography, culture, history, and government.

2000 Co-coordinated a tour to West Africa with 11 teachers and 5 students. Traveled to Ghana, Benin and Togo visiting schools, cultural centers, rain forests, slave castles, and craft villages. Developed an integrated curriculum resource document on West Africa.
