I am looking to re-enter my chosen ( or related ) field in a Tech Support capacity. I worked in 2 fields my entire adult life ( splitting up the year or occasionally years ) by jumping between the 2 fields to keep from burning out. The jobs were in 2 high stress fields that allowed me to carry parts of one over to the other. From the 80's to 1998 my main field was Emergency medical and related - covering multiple departments including 911 Ambulance ( in the Field ) and as a "Dept Float" in the Emergency Room, ICU, & Surgery . A Float is a person certified in multiple depts and sent to cover those low on personnel. The second field started as a hobby and then in 1987 became a part time job helping an old friend with a non-stop work load. It was in Technical related to television and movie production as well as Broadcast engineering. Initially it was working only in the San Francisco and outlying areas and by 97 It was my main career and being sent all over the US on many projects or shows was my responsibility. I also worked as the "Set Medic" at times and production saved money having me in a dual role. While on and prior to some projects I worked as a Project Mgr in charge of hiring and Instructing new employees in both Installation and repair of various satellite and audio systems. This was for both the Home and commercial markets. The most memorable was getting people back online in Louisiana after Katrina wiped out entire towns. I feel that my field experience in both careers improved my natural ability to communicate with people in a variety of situations and that providing Customer or Tech support service over the phone or via Chat is something I will do well in.

It soon became my new full time career as john is considered one of the top engineers in Bio-med and Communications. He taught me all facets of electronics for oiver 20 years ( he was also my neighbor ) and I was very fortunate to learn from him,. when he left the country for extended vacations I did my regular work as well as the Hosp/cust tech support he did.

This involved working directly with producers and talent ( which really teaches people skills and patience ). this included 1 year as a tech on the Presidents News team for ABC West ( Clinton era ) and once again people skills were honed even more.
