  • Safety, Compliance, Retail Center Inspections and Investigations.
  • Bend and Prineville Oregon and all Western United States Region.
  • The job duties and responsibilities included in this position related to all aspects of Transportation Safety and Compliance with all associated agencies involved in Commercial Motor Vehicle's and the and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and all state and local laws with regards to the requirements for compliant status to remain in good safety ratings status.
  • The company utilizes 5 remote distribution Centers to transfer and distribute large quantities of tires for all of the 540 retail centers.
  • My duties included insuring safety of the 160 drivers and 12 front line supervisors, and the training and safety compliance requirements routinely requiring renewal and updating.
  • Working closely with the Risk services department to fine tune and enhance Safety Practice and Procedure Programs, and create an atmosphere and promotion of the safest work environment possible at over 540 retail locations in eight western states.
  • Duties included, but were not limited to: Safety Committee Chair and other responsibilities associated with safety groups.
  • Design, develop and implement an entirely new program for working investigations of damages and accidents, and promoting an atmosphere of minimizing future incidents.
  • Author a monthly newsletter promoting safety, laws, compliance issues, awards, and any information regarding practices and procedures for enhancement of existing programs.
  • Monitor, maintain and manage performance issues associated with the FMCSA Safety Rating system, SMS for all drivers and divisions.
  • Assist and prepare drivers for enforcement citations, and provide information and data for court case resolution of citations on company vehicles.
  • Review, analyze and implement existing company safety practices, with intent to establish current compliance standards for several agencies governing the transportation industry.
  • Implement emergency procedures for locations associated with warehousing and trucking fleet, and product storage for current code requirements and fire safety.
  • Monitor and maintain company D.E.Q requirements for storage of chemicals and all associated environmental practices.
  • Maintaining the environmental aspects of the clean water act, and the testing and performance of quality control for properties associated with the trucking industry.
  • Monitor and evaluate safety performance of all CDL operators, and control each drivers safety rating system for successful performance base.
  • Inspect and investigate all safety issues and inspections performed by government agencies and fulfill requests for improvements or non existent compliance issues.
  • Monitor and complete compliance follow up by validating safety requirement upgrades.
  • Introduce and implement safety practices and procedures for retail centers involving new rulings or regulations.
  • Report and respond to the Director of Risk Services in charge of all departments associated with any risk management or safety programs.
  • Utilize all department supervisors on a weekly basis, for correspondence of issues and incident resolution.
  • Monitor and maintain entire company MSDS and PPE for retail centers and different departments of the company requiring any use of new or sustaining PPE.
  • Insure reporting data and information for all agencies governing company Safety, Health or Environmental concerns compliant.
