YMCA Camp Ingersoll City, STATE,
  • Oversaw a large area of the camp
  • Under my leadership, the ropes staff lead team building activities with all the campers that came through
  • We utilized different low ropes elements that tested teamwork, communication, and trust
  • We were trained how to safely operate the high ropes course with elements such as zip-line, rock wall, and the leap of faith

  • The Science & Math Investigative Learning Experiences, or SMILE, is an after school academic enrichment program  for grades 4-12 for minorities and disadvantaged students that encourages them in the STEM field
  • A sub-program of this organization is the EOSA weekend where a large group of 4th and 5th graders attend W. Alton Jones Campus in West Greenwich, RI
  • During this weekend, URI students form teams, as well as an environmental lesson plan that they will in turn teach to the young students 
  • As an intern, I served as co-coordinator, overseeing the overall flow and structure of the weekend
  • I worked closely with the URI mentors, and was available all weekend for support, advice, as well as facilitate certain parts of the weekend
