  • The Residence Hall Director (RHD) assists the Director of Student Housing and Assistant Director who provides leadership for one of Hinds residential communities comprising 90 students or more.
  • The RHD supports the coordinator in the performance of the following primary areas.
  • Student Development - The RHD will assist in the development of strategy for providing leadership in the areas of recruiting, training, mentoring, and supervising staff, advising the resident assistants, fostering community relationships and supporting learning and College initiatives.
  • Housing Administration - The RHD will assist in the management the administrative aspects of the residential community that includes room change paperwork, master rosters, conflict resolution and contributing on committees and presentations.
  • Facilities Management - Managing and enhancing the physical aspects of the residence hall.
  • This includes signage, cleanliness, repair, and overall customer comfort, safety, and security matters.
  • The RHD will facilitate relationships with facility partners such as Hinds Maintenance Department, Valley Food Services and Hinds Housekeeping.
  • Serve on one or more committee or work group; and provide weekend RHD housing rotation coverage.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Area Coordinator, Director of Student Housing, Dean of Students, Vice President, President, or appropriate authority.
