Throughout high school, 1990-1994, I worked summers for Circle K Ranch and also day worked when needed. Circle K was a large progressive cow/calf operation.
From 1995-2010 I owned my own successful horse training business. I also day worked regularly. During this time I also worked for the Sheriff's Office picking up stray cattle and horses.
This was a temporary summer position. I rode seven days a week 10 or more hours a day checking and moving cattle.
At Holt Ranch I managed 16 sections, oversaw the ranch horse breeding program and performed all aspects of running the ranch. Here I learned operation and repair of windmills and pivots. Also did some farming.
Tascosa Feedyard has a 25,000 head capacity. I rode pens and identified sick and crippled cattle, assisted in shipping and also kept up with necessary paperwork.
Randall County Feedyard has over 80,000 head capacity. I ride pens and identify sick and crippled cattle, assist in shipping and keep up with necessary paperwork.
