Work History
06/2005 to 05/2007 Professional Recording Artist/Touring Musician Self | City, , After graduating from Wesleyan I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music.  During my time in Los Angeles I recorded with several bands and toured extensively. In 2007 I was named as one of the "top ten progressive drummers" in the internationally acclaimed magazine, Modern Drummer.  Working with a diverse group of musicians in a variety of bands has fostered an ability to collaborate well with my peers.  This experience correlates well with Special Education where I look forward to collaborating with a wide array of teachers and professionals.  Additionally, touring across the globe has provided me with a meaningful and applicable foundation in extensive planning, coordination, and implementation of itineraries.

06/2007 to 11/2015 Primary Caretaker Frank And Mafalda Tortora | City, , In the summer of 2007 my grandmother fell ill and I decided to return home from Los Angeles to care for her and my grandfather.  From that point on, I became my grandparents' primary caretaker.  Aside from assisting with everyday necessities such as eating, showering, dressing etc., I became responsible for their medical management.  This included coordinating between specialists, physicians, nd physical therapists, as well as managing medications and ensuring that they were taken according to a complex schedule.  While I never considered caring for my grandparents to be a "job,"  it was a tremendous responsibility which required great patience, empathy, problem identification/solving, and trans-professional coordination.  Being their caretaker was the single most rewarding and formative experience of my life, largely inspiring my current aspirations.

04/2010 to Current Private Music Intructor Self | , ,

For the past seven years I have worked steadily as a private music instructor.  I have had as many as 20 students. Each student receives 30-60 minute individual lessons.  The flexibility of teaching private lessons allowed me to make a living while caring for my grandparents.  Teaching private music lessons is unique in that it is one-on-one and outside of the school setting.  Nevertheless, there are countless relevant parallels to the field of Special Education.

08/2008 to Current Co-founder and Label Manager Fake Four Inc. | City, , In 2008, my brother and I co-founded a record label called Fake Four Inc. Since then, we have released over 60 albums from a diverse roster of artists, and have organized tours throughout the world. Running Fake Four has involved constant collaboration with manufacturers and distributors, as well as close supervision over projects and artists. Currently, Fake Four Inc continues to be an internationally celebrated boutique record label with an evolving catalog of notable independent artists.
