Healthcare runs in my blood. I am passionate, determined, and, most importantly, empathetic. I understand that the hospital environment is not always the most comforting, but if I can make a difference in someone's experience just with a smile or encouraging word, it's worth it. I want to become a registered nurse to continue my career and passion.

I am originally from a rural city in southern Indiana called Columbus. There, I was raised by my mother in father who both work in healthcare my father a paramedic, and my mother an administrative assistant for a family practice. I have been surrounded by healthcare my whole life.
I began my career in healthcare the summer after my sophomore year of high school, when I got a job in food service at Columbus Regional Health, a local hospital in my hometown.
After graduating high school, I became a patient care technician for the same hospital on a med surg unit I once served meals on.
My life changed when my boyfriend landed a job with Discover Financial Services in Palatine, IL. Being a freshman in college and working on my prerequisites for a nursing program, I saw this as the perfect opportunity to grow my career and experience.
I then landed another patient care technician job with Edward-Elmhurst Health, specifically at the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital location. Additionally, I have become accepted in the Harper College Nursing Program beginning Spring 2021.
I am excited to see what the future holds and where life will take my career next.
