  • I started my career at HIM doing the roll as "Check Out." In this roll my duties included: the scheduling of patient appointments with their medical provider; scheduling patient specialty appointments; scheduling patient tests as directed by the physician; answering patient phone calls; assisting in the filing and retrieval of patient charts and documents; managing the transcription process (uploading the daily voice to and retrieving typed files from the dictation software); the management of the daily deposit/account reconciliation (DPR).
  • In May 2010, I transferred my duties to managing the Medical Records Dept.
  • During the transition to Medical Records I also helped with the orientation and training of new hires in our office.
  • In February of 2014 our office became the pilot site for the implementation of EMR.
  • Since its inception, I have been actively involved in coming up with work flow solutions for the office.

  • From 1994-1999, I worked full time as a Billing Information Coordinator in Patient Financial Services.
