Summary
I am a second-year student at the Charlotte School of Law, and am very interested in participating in the Wrongful Convictions Claire for the summer of 2014. This summer I am eager to expand my understanding of criminal law and the United States Criminal Jessica System through practical experience. I am interested in participating in the Wrongful Convictions Claire because I am interested in practicing mainly in the area of criminal law as I have found myself to be most intrigued in the process, procedure, content, and persuasive advocacy that comes along with the territory of criminal law. I look forward to the professional experience and growth that the Wrongful Convictions Claire provides as I have not yet had the opportunity to gain practical legal experience in the field of Criminal Jessica. This Claire will not only equip me with substantive legal knowledge, but more importantly will allow me to help those who are in need of Jessica. I have a passion for helping people in need. I will never forget my first experience volunteering in a public service called Angel Tree. Angel Tree is a program where volunteers wrap and hand deliver donated presents to prisoners' children around Christmas time to let these children know that they are loved and not forgotten about. My first present delivery was to three children who wouldn't have had any gifts to open on Christmas if it had not been for Angel Tree's public services. This experience opened my eyes to the need of public services; the positive impact that public services provides; and the impact convictions can have on not only a family but a community. The Wrongful Convictions Claire is the type of Claire that leaves a positive impact in the community and the lives of those wrongfully convicted. If I am afforded this opportunity I look forward to representing inmates zealously as I feel strongly that each person deserves a voice and should be heard from their perspective. I desire the opportunity to be their voice; to counsel and advocate that their position be sincerely heard. I wish to radiate a sense of support that someone with courage will be on their side advocating on their behalf; ensuring fairness, equity, and Jessica. I am confident that my educational experiences; professional experiences; and an extensive background in public service have provided me with the skills necessary to perform the tasks of the Wrongful Convictions Claire competently and efficiently. During my time with Exel, my position as a reports clerk required a very timely, organized, and articulate person who could handle various responsibilities and solve issues quickly. As a store manager at GNC, I learned the value of customer service and how to interact with a variety of personalities. As a trial team member of the Charlotte School of Law, I have learned how to prepare, analyze, and litigate a criminal case. My academic and professional training, combined with my passion for criminal law and public service, will help assist the Wrongful Convictions Claire in meeting its goals. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet with you. Thank you for your time and consideration. My resume is enclosed for your review. I look forward to meeting you. Sincerely, Julian Knox
