November, 2009- Myself and 2 other Marines built pallets, stored equipment and Hazardous materials while following regulations to send out for a 7 month deployment. We completed this task in a efficient and safe manner.
From September, 2010 - October, 2011 while my unit was deployed i was placed into a position of great responsibility as an Embarkation Chief, where i would over see all movements to and from deployment as well as training exercises for my unit and assisted 4 other units in their movements as well. This position was above my pay grade and i demonstrated that i was capable and competent to handle this position of responsibility.
From July, 2011 - May, 2012 myself and another Marine we given the challenging task to Plan, Organize, and maintain a container lot for more than 800 Containers, Due to the lack of space this was not an easy task, through extensive planning we successfully maneuvered the containers into the lot.
The logistics/embarkation specialist prepares supplies and equipment for embarkation and performs various Force Deployment Planning and Execution (FDP and E) functions to support the movement of personnel, supplies, and equipment via all modes of transportation using commercial and military assets, at all levels including unit, MAGTF, and joint operations. They are trained in the application of Automated Information Systems (AIS) that are utilized throughout the Defense Transportation system (DTS) to account, track, and interface movement data with load planning programs and joint AIS to support the FDP and E process and In Transit visibility (ITV) The logistics/embarkation specialist is trained to prepare aircraft and ship load plans that meet organizational requirements. assist with the preparation, planning, and execution of strategic mobility plans in accordance with the Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) used to deploy and sustain forward deployed forces. The logistics/embarkation specialist also performs multiple logistics administrative duties within the J/G/S-4 section. They compile and maintain logistics support data, compute combat logistics support requirements, and coordinate combat logistics functions in support of MAGTF operations and deployments.
