  • Upon being hired at Family Pet Medical Center I quickly learned that the owner had been trying to manage her large and busy hospital for 21 years by herself. Taking on such a challenge while you are a full time practicing veterinarian and mother is quite a responsibility too take on. Though she did her best and is a successful practice there was no organization or protocols set in place when I arrived 6 years ago. Beginning to think about retirement allowed her to be willing to delegate many responsibilities she was overwhelmed with. She allowed me to complete many tasks that helped the staff become more focused and passionate. I managed clinic operations, including supervising vet techs, scheduling and appointments. Responsible for employee scheduling, vacation/holiday requests, Provided relief when staff availability was low. Knowledgeable and willing to assist in almost all areas of hospital when needed from reception to kennel.

I am comfortable discussing new pharmaceutical options with company representatives.

Created Hospital Handbook, new employee protocols, establish and set up new Cornerstone software, multiple staff responsibility checklists, and prepared yearly employee reviews. Created log books for all machine maintenance including anesthetic, dental unit, endoscopy unit, all in house Idexx lab stations & Idexx Digital Imaging.
  • Assisted veterinarian with treatment of wounds, vaccination administration and operations. Obtained & analysis diagnostic samples including skin scrapes, tape preps, culture swab, urinalysis ( strip & sediment), bloodwork ( Idexx in house lab stations ), and fecal samples ( direct / float).
