All I have ever known in my 42 years of living is a life of ministry. I have been in full time vocational ministry for the past 21 years of which 15 have been in a lead pastorate role. The 21 years prior to that I was raised in the house of a Southern Baptist pastor . My father was (retired) the Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hayesville NC which I would consider my home church. Due to this I have a deep zeal and passion for ministry and to see churches fulfill their callto the Great Commission. When fulfilled the result is people are saved, equipped, and then sent into mission fields to continue to multiply God's mission. Church growth is not a means for the Great Commission, but rather the result.
I made a profession of faith at the age of 10 and was baptized by my father, but for sure at that young age did not have a full understanding of the Gospel and surrender. In August of 1998 the Lord brought me to a full realization of surrender and I would say that that point is when Jesus was truly Lord and Savior of my life. In the midst of this surrender was when God began to reveal to me his call on my life to full time Gospel ministry. I surrender to this call in November of 1998 and have been preaching the Gospel ever since.
I was married to my beautiful wife Marcie June 23rd of 2001 and we have to wonderful children. My son Jon Luke is 14 and my daughter Kaylin 12. They bother are followers of Jesus and love the work of the gospel. We love to do missions together both locally and in third world countries. Our last trip together was in 2019 as we spent 18 days in Honduras together.
I am prayerfully sending this resume as a step of obedience and conviction of the Lord. I am leading a wonderful church family where I deeply love the people and in return they deeply love me. Therefore I am not looking to leave the current place I am in unless the Lord makes it very clear to you and to me during this process. Thank you in advance for your time and service to the Lord and Woodlawn. I am praying for you that the hand of the Lord will guide you to His desired outcome. God Bless.
