I was Employed by shoprite the day i applied . My first position was to work 3 days in the commerce park shoprite 3 days a week doing a variety of jobs mainly for the salad bar and 3 days a week in the norwalk shoprite doing the same . 3 months into the job the manager asked me to take over a position in kitchen for someone who was leaving . I now work in the norwalk store 6 days a week doing kitchen , salad bar closing the kitchen 1 night a week . I also have been sent to other stores to work at many varied jobs from retraining staff and redoing everything to opening and being main cook .
I started working for the owner of the restaurant as the salad bar person and to run the food to tables . It took only a couple of months and i was the cashier answer the phone take orders retrieve orders from computer , fill drinks orders , make salads , get pickup and deliveries run food to tales , stock restaurant , keep it clean . Most days i opened ran and closed the restaurant with only myself in front and a cook and dishwasher if they showed up . She also had a summer swim club she ran that she always had young kids working until the director came to restaurant and would only give her the contract if i went to club so they went from 4 kids and a cook to me and a cook and they told her it was never run so smoothly .
I applied to the bus company as a driver it only took me a month to get my commercial license . I started driving and after 3 months they called me into office and offered me a job as the office manager / dispatcher at first i was hesitant because there were 85 other drivers working there before me but they said if they wanted one of them they would have asked them . So i gave it a try. I started dispatching and one week later i was doing their billing which was 6 months behind then scheduling , payroll , summer paper work for unemployment , hiring , training , heavy phone contact with public schools andboard of ed.
I applied for the the night shift which they had not started to have over night shift it was going to be the first cvs to have one . So i worked during the day and they gave me a lot of different things to do and after 3 weeks they asked me to be supervisor i had 7 people working with me i got them to let us fix stock room ,ordering ,bring in deliveries , stocking store , all the paper work and what ever paper work that company sent like plans to reorganize sections of store , returns to warehouse .
