Detail-oriented Freight Handler with extensive knowledge of [Industry] processes and commitment to taking initiative. Dedicated to helping coworkers and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse space. Main goal is to get everyone home safe to their families. I take responsibility for my own actions and wrong doings.
Currently in the middle of my courses and have not finished yet. Im going for a degree in Computer Science because i have always been a nerd! I want to learn how to code and develop proxy's(auto cart bot for purchasing very exclusive items on websites such as Art, Sneakers & Clothing) because there is a huge demand for them1
My job was to load trailers with freight. Altho it was not an easy job, it quickly became one of my favorites because of how hard we had to work. Not many people last long. In my time working there i noticed how fast people quit because this job wa extremely physical. I lost a ton of weight working there because of how hot the trailers get (up to 110 degrees daily during summer). The way i looked at it was that im practically getting paid to work out! I was known as the hype man because i always had an amazing attitude. I would make sure all the knew employees knew that i was there to help and that they should never get frustrated because it'll only get worse. You can not come into that job upset because it will throw off your whole day. I was trained & licensed to use most of the power equipment such as Fork lift, PE, and walkie. My goal in any and every job is to not stay at the bottom for to long. I've always looked for improvement and how to level up. When i was on Second Shift i became my bosses right hand man and was respected by his bosses for being so young and in charge. Being bilingual helped me communicate easily with all the employees. After about A year and 6 month i switched to weekends morning shift because i took advantage of the Guild Education Program to get a better education so that one day i could apply to become a boss! Ims till in school and very thankful for the online school opportunity that they have to offer.
After my fire watch i stayed as a temp to work as a potato inspector. Would cut any potato that was to big and would have to toss any green/rotting potatos.
I was in charge of safety and filing welding permits. Main job was to put out any and all fires before they grew. I was quickly given the "Lead" title because of how fast and productive I worked. I trained all the new Fire Watch members and had to explain to them that this isn't a job where you can just chill and hangout for 12 hours a day. We were in charge of making sure the building with millions of dollars worth of equipment was not harmed or damaged in the process. Had to enforce may strict rules that the Lambweston employees were not a fan of but it was for their own safety! made them walk all the way around the building if they had to because i did not want any metal pipes to fall on to them or get burned! With the Fire Watch job i learned a ton of safety and how irresponsible people can get, even when they see safety/caution tape. The goal was to make sure everyone got home safe and in one piece. I was there & in charge of the welding area when the largest deep fryer in the north west was installed ($ 3 million deep fryer to keep up with McDonald's breakfast 24/7 menu change). unfortunately the job was temporary because they are not always working and adding new machines to the warehouse but it was still one of my favorite jobs I've ever had because i got to witness Idaho Steel build amazing equipment and machines.
currently in online college. Love to work hard and what im passionate about in my description of hobbies. Would love to hear back from you guys with good or bad news! thank you for the opportunity to apply!
