I have spent my whole life fishing. I grew up on the Florida coast. Born in Palm Harbor, I spent my childhood and early adult years pursuing my passion for fishing around the bays, beaches, and reefs of Tampa, Clearwater, St. Pete, Anclote Key, Crystal River, Yankeetown, Cedar Key, Suwanee Town, and eventually Jupiter Inlet before pursuing a full time professional career in the charter industry. I moved to Oregon in 2016 looking to exit the corporate world and chase my dream of fishing full time. I took a deckhand position in Newport OR and immediately fell in love with being on the water everyday. As soon as I had acquired enough hours to apply for my Masters License I took the class and stepped in as the new captain of the Ilwaco Indian, a 44ft charter vessel owned by Newport Tradewinds. I immediately hired a crew and began the task of cleaning the boat and the gear up. By the end of the first season we were the most requested boat in the fleet of 5 and had a solid reputation for being friendly and professional as well as maintaining a clean, safe vessel and organized, quality gear. We showed up early and stayed late and always worked to get the customers every fish we could. For me fishing is not just a job. It's what I love. It's a way of life. It is the only thing that has been with me the whole way. The only thing I never grow tired of. Every day on the water is a gift and every memory made is priceless. This more than anything is what I bring to the table. It's the love for what I'm doing that makes people want to fish with me. I will put in the effort and the time to learn and adapt and perfect my craft because it's just what I love to do. I am excited to bring my passion back to the state I love and grew up in and to the fishery I first fell in love with as a child standing on my father's sea wall.
