I started working with my fathers construction company at the age of 15 in North Dakota. I graduated in 2016, and shortly after, joined Spokane County Fire Dist #4. During my time at the district, I had the opportunity to expand my skillset in other medical areas by working at Davita Dialysis and SHMC. I have made an effort to serve and expand my skill set by serving in various capacities with the district. I am currently going to school to become a certified Paramedic. The district has been very good to me and has help me grow in many areas including leadership, responsibility, and as a man. I will continue to give back.
I will never stop striving to improve myself and improve my brothers and sisters. I love working with the District and it has been a true honor to be able to serve in the areas I have. I have strong leadership capabilities, but I also admit my short-comings because I believe that transparency creates unity. I also believe the best leaders lead from the front, training up members as leaders, not followers, which is why I constantly train/volunteer when I am able, so I can improve and share what have learned to make others better. I am always learning, and I love learning. I also am a firm believer in respect and humility. Everyone has unique experiences that can benefit the group. I will stand up for others and not tolerate bullying or workplace harassment. This creates disunity, as well as a toxic work environment.
I am also very innovative, I love making improvements to my workplace. I am a firm believer that innovation is a necessary quality in an great employee. These people will help carry the workplace into the future by constantly improving and looking for a way to make things more efficient.
Another very desirable quality is to bring unity in the department. I strive to accomplish this from the bottom, up by treating EVERYONE with respect, even if I don't receive it in return. Unity is also achieved by including all levels of experience into training.
In summary, I believe the items stated above would make me an excellent candidate for a full-time position. I am aware that this will likely result in a significant increase in responsibility, which makes me even more eager to pursue this position. I am also aware that there will likely be subsequent push back, should I receive the position, which I am prepared for. It has been an honor serving with District 4, and it would be a true honor to serve as a full-time employee as District 4 continues to pioneer forward. Thank you for your consideration in my application.
