I have had the fantastic opportunity to work in all many aspects of Office Administration, Customer Service, Accounts Receivable and Finance as my paid position for the past 18 years. In addition to this, I have had the awesome privilege to be able to devote a significant amount of time volunteering for many Non-Profit organizations as Co-Race Director for Green Mountain Marathon and First Run Burlington, Registration Coordinator for Vermont City Marathon, Site Coordinator for First Night Burlington, Self-Funded Missionary with Globe International to Guatemala and Nicaragua to name a few events.
During my nearly 18 years working for KnowledgeWave Training I have performed almost every aspect of Office Administration, Customer Service, Accounts Receivable and Finance. My duties include, but have not been limited to answering phones, greeting clients and reception, hospitality, inventory and ordering of materials and supplies, printing and binding course materials, maintaining class offerings schedule on-line and internally, recording class attendance, student registrations and enrollments, entry of course offerings into database, data entry, uploading of information to various Internet sites, tracking staff vacation utilization, liaison with other training centers and partners, invoicing, collections, maintaining many complicated client tracking spreadsheets, maintaining several financial tracking spreadsheet, payroll, commission reporting, bank and credit card reconciliation, month end and other financial reporting.
As an Independent Self-Funded Missionary I volunteered my time working with several ministries in Guatemala and Nicaragua. This required us to raise our own support for living expenses through fund raising and promotion. My varied roles focused on my abilities in logistics, event management, accounting, bookkeeping, customer service, human resources and payroll doing such things from making travel arrangements, completing customs declarations paperwork, in-Country travel coordination, hospitality for International Teams, administrative tasks to financial reporting.
I served on staff at a local bilingual Guatemalan Church and Nicaraguan Orphanage providing administrative, accounting and human resources support. This required a clear understanding of the Labor Laws in both Guatemala and Nicaragua in Spanish. I performed bookkeeping and accounting services to 2 NGO's. I managed and trained local workers in the areas of proper food preparation, sanitation and personal hygiene. I taught English as a Second Language. Alongside my husband, I traveled and helped build modest homes for extremely poor families.
Co-Race Director for Green Mountain Marathon. In this part time, year round unpaid volunteer position I was responsible for the administrative and logistical aspects of the race. Some tasks included data entry, designing and proofing race brochure and application, solicitation of sponsorship funds and products, recruiting, and training volunteers, coordination with local government and police, assure participant safety, inventory and ordering of supplies, awards and materials, publicity, posting of finisher results to printed, on-line publications and Boston Marathon, mailings and all financial reporting to parent organization.
