Project: Automatic Train Control (ATC) / Communications Based Train Control (CBTC). This Project will install Automatic Train Control (ATC) utilizing advanced Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) technology plus a back-up conventional signaling system on the entire Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) mainline network including all central office, wayside and train borne equipment locations. This Project includes design services and providing a new vital-processor based interlocking system utilizing digital track circuits to replace the existing relay based signal system and track circuits - $421 million ATC/CBTC Signal System project.

  • Worked with PATH employees, Electrical and Construction Contractors.
  • Developed, reviews RFIs, processes necessary submissions and tracks their status through to final approval.
  • Experienced with CBTC, ATS, conventional signaling systems and working around or on railroad property. Experienced working directly with transit agencies or other railroad Force Account personnel a plus.
  • Witness and inspect construction work related to Electrical/Civil/Signal/ATC Field and room equipment installation.
  • Prepared daily inspection reports, identifying variances to planned work and report problems/issues to supervisors. Verified that all installation and construction activities are compliant to the approved drawing and approved work plans.
  • Monitor contractor resources for compliance to property and agency safety requirements including track safety, flagging, requests for track access, communication and personal protection equipment.
  • Attended job briefs, ensure work plan requirement and resources are in place prior to start of work. Meet and Coordinate with General Contractor to review requirements, procedures, establish schedules and methods for testing and documentation.
  • Performed inspection of installation work for Signal and Communications equipment, cable laying, cable pulling, cable duct banks, bungalows, rooms, wayside cases, junction boxes, fiber distribution boxes, etc.
  • Performed inspection of installed equipment such as signals, track circuits, switch machines, wayside cases, junction boxes, bungalows, cables, cable support equipment, conduits, communication access points, fiber distribution panels in an operating railroad environment.
  • Performed inspection of installed civil foundation supports, structure, pedestals, poles as required to support signal and electrical.
  • Attended Construction & Protection Planning and Look Ahead Management Meeting for the Weekend/Weekly Work Meeting.
  • Attended Weekly Work Track Rights and Monthly PATH Logistics Meeting. Managed office, field personnel, documented monthly and weekly logistics changes made by Contractors.
  • Prepared Weekend and Weekly Clients Track Rights Request and daily individual template reports for the Inspectors.
  • Retained on track of all changes, additions or cancellations for all jobs. Informed to transportation of changes in track rights, Signals/W&S/PS&C or Transportation of any resources modifications (change in number of PATH Employees).
  • Track all changes with Work Track Rights. Continued to track changes in track rights, job cancellations/changes etc. that happen throughout the week.  Reviewed and approved payments thru inspection(such as reports and pictures). Prepared Work Orders and Tracks Field Observation Reports.
