Supervised daily repair work of 35 mechanics, welders, painters, and yard personnel. Set schedules for machine completion based on job needs and dispatched employees to the field as emergency breakdowns warranted. Developed repair budgets for machine overhauls. Responsible for hiring and dismissal decisions.
During this time, I developed a computerized work order system to track and schedule needed repairs, using a number of codes to denote the skill typed necessary to effect the repairs and to prioritize the work. The system is still in use to this day.
I also developed a PM tracking system using our enterprise software system to generate reports on machines coming due for maintenance in order to improve PM compliance.
Primarily responsible for repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting for asphalt pavers, compactors, and milling machines, although I worked on all equipment owned by the companies, including excavators, articulated dump trucks, dozers, and wheel loaders. During the summer, I was responsible for field repairs and assisting crews with paving and milling operations, including screed adjustments and grade control issues to resolve paving problems in the field.
During winter months, I was responsible for complete overhauls of asphalt pavers, milling machines, and compactors.
