I'm an insightful EMS professional with 26-years of experience in all levels of EMS. I was certified as an EMT in 1996 while working at DuPont as a machine operator. I was certified as an EMT-I in 1999. In April 2001 I decided to leave the factory and start my EMS career. I was certified in 2003 as a Paramedic while attending Midlands EMS in partnership with Midland Tech in w. Columbia.
During the past 26-years, I have worked my way from an EMT to the Director of the same EMS service. In December 2011, I fulfilled one of my goals and became the EMS Director. Lee County is a rural county with no hospital and we pride ourselves in being the best. We have the advantage to treating our patients and seeing our education being put to work. Our average call from start to finish is 90 minutes. We need to be able to address any condition and have the mean to treat our patient.
I became to 911 Communications' Director in December 2017. I have the pleasure to be oversight for two emergency departments that can be challenging most of the time. 911 Communications is a different beast with it's own regulation and oversight from SLED and SC Criminal Justice Academy.
I am use to a busy work schedule and have to multi-task daily. I'm thankful for having a great support group around me because without them we would not be successful.
