I first began working the beginning of 2017. I was 16 years old at the time and ready to enter the work field. My first job was McDonald's as a Crew Member. I went on to train others as to what I do everyday and get comfortable in my position. Eventually I went on to gaining another job in the food industry, Noodles & Company. Here I dove more into serving customers personally and individually as the company encourages you to make every customer feel very welcome and "at home" in a sense. I took on different tasks such as working saute or garnishing dishes for customers. I worked at both of those restaurants for quite some time before I decided to try working for myself. This is when I decided to try out DoorDash and food delivery. Since I've been working for DoorDash as an independent contractor I've learned a lot of lessons that will help guide my career path in the future. This experience has allowed me to gained a lot of independence and motivation. Through this I have learned how to manage my own income, monthly expenses, and work schedule. I've experienced the ups and downs of working for yourself and have overcome a lot of hardballs. Working for myself has taught me that it isn't a far fetched goal and can be achieved and maintained with hard work, dedication, and faith. DoorDash to everyone else may seem like just a food delivery service, but for me, it open my mind to all of the possibilities in my future and has allowed me to see both sides of the employment spectrum.
I took Aviation Maintenance my Senior year of High School through the KCTC program. This program was held at a different location than my homeschool which required me to navigate there and back daily. Here we spent most of our time studying visually and hands-on about aircraft technology, history, repair, diagnosis, etc. I've learned so much about this field that I would otherwise have not know about without my counselors guidance.
