Work History
Darkroom Technician, 08/1974 to 04/1976
The Color LabCity, STATE,
This job was in the old days of photography, long before digital.

My responsibilities included developing and printing of color and b&w film and prints for professional photographers of all specialties.

My work was very technical including:
precise mixing of chemicals
custom b&w prints developed by hand in trays
custom color printing including determining color corrections determined by eye while viewing the prints through special color filters

This served as my introduction to precise technical work.

This was a part-time job during my university years.

The lab has since closed.
Apprentice Phoographer, 10/1976 to 08/1978
Stuart Peltz Advertising & Food PhotographyCity, STATE,
Through a course I took at Parson's School of design, following my graduation from University, I was offered a position as an apprentice/assistant to a top NY Photographer.

I was responsible for putting up and taking down sets/cameras/lighting, assisting in all aspects etc. as well as keeping records of film & polaroids for billing purposes.

I learned from a master product photographer who instilled in me the passion for creating outstanding images of the highest quality.

In addition to many technical aspects I also learned about "light" and controlling it's "nuances".

This job served as my introduction in how to use and finally master the "view camera". The old-fashioned looking camera (in it's simplest form a box with a lens on it's front) that showed the image up-side down on a piece of glass on it's back that we would put 4"x5" or 8"x10" pieces of film into.
Photographer's Assistant, 10/1976 to 08/1978
Steve Young Fashion PhotographyCity, STATE,
Concurrent with my working for Product Photographer Stuart Peltz I also part-time assisted his studio-mate on fashion shoots in the studio as well as on location.
Bachelor of Arts: Broadcast Journal, Expected in 1976
University of Miami - Coral Gables, FL
In addition to my course studies I had 2 semesters of independent study in photojournalism. One of the semesters was dedicated to a b&w project on migrant farm workers.

During one of these semesters I was also responsible for assisting newer student in b&w film developing and printmaking.
