Service
several clients that demand different needs.
Processes
both mandatory and voluntary specific corporate actions functions related
to international and U.S. securities held (regardless of custodian) for
specific Bank of New York Mellon back office clients.
Processing
responsibilities include: the receipt of custodian announcements, the
scrubbing/comparison of data, and the notification of corporate action
events to a specific client.
Reconciles
client positions with multiple custodians and monitors appropriate posting
of accruals and entitlements to client accounts.
Responsible
for soliciting and receiving responses from the clients and for submitting
these instructions to the various custodians prior to their deadline dates.
Utilizes
Word, Excel, and Outlook daily.
Was
given training responsibilities just six months into the job. I was also
able to learn quickly, receiving minimum training only on the creation
stage of offers and was able to process events in full within only a couple
of weeks.
Interacts with
clients and custodians daily and handles inquiries through phone and email.
This job requires
an above average ability to multi-task and prioritizing which actions need
to be processed in a specific timely order depending on which client needs
serviced or which stage the event is in. Our group has the highest volume
of events on our floor, staying very busy each day and is the only group
which processes from start to finish.
Runs reports for
our department such as the trade report, informing co-workers if there are
trades on their offers, as well as the restricted report, which shows what
actions have encumbered positions (client accounts that currently are
restricted from receiving or delivering trades).
Responsible
for closing all offers that were assigned to myself. Each offer must be
checked for accuracy and must be checked within two weeks after closing.
