Maintaining inventory to make sure we had enough product for the week which ranged from bread, dairy, meats, and other ingredients as well as maintaining the proper amount of cleaning supplies.

Preparation of food which included dicing, blanching, mixing, and food storage to have easy ingredient access while keeping a clean work station.

Food storage and utilizing food warmers as well as proper refrigeration methods. When using the food warmers I had to check the temperature of different meats according to food guidelines as well as monitoring the temperature of other perishable foods.

Cooking food and adhering to customer requests. Working within a resturant setting, we had set menus that I had to follow while being consistent and making sure everything was cooked properly as well as making sure everything was prepared on time. When taking requests from customers sometimes I had to alter their meals at times like removing items or swapping them out for customer satisfaction while still following the rules.

Keeping a clean work station was a big part of my day to day while working in a food based environment and it required me to use specific sanitation methods as well as proper storage methods to avoid cross contamination. When working with meat, seafood, and other ingredients I had to constantly clean grills, avoid using the same pans, cutting boards, knives, and other prep tools to ensure no food crossed with the other. Specific disinfectant sprays, dish soaps, and other tools had to be used accordingly to insure the safety of not only myself, however my team and the customers receiving their food.

Training new teammates according to updated policies and guidelines was also apart of my worksheet every so often. While working within this restaurant setting I excelled alot as a cook and a team member where I was chosen to train new and upcoming employees which involved me showing them the best methods to getting their daily tasks done timely, responsibly, and properly.

Answering phones throughout the shift and maintaining professionalism was an important factor of everyone's workday. The restaurant had an opening phrase that had to be said in a clear manner to keep a nice company image as well as starting the conversation with a welcoming tone. When closing off the conversation with the customer my team and I ended the call with a company wide end phrase to influence the customer to want to choose this restaurant over others for our kind and welcoming methods of communication.

Effectively utilizing my downtime was very beneficial to making the restaurant flow more efficiently. During slow peaks I'd take the opportunity to clean up the cooking spaces, organize the walk-ins, wipe down tables, do inventory, take out trash, and coach teammates on how to better themselves. This also influenced others around to be more positive and productive.

Unloading shipments as well as properly assembling products onto U-Boats without causing damage to anything, then pulling U-Boats onto the sales floor to be stocked.

Effectively stocking shelves according to the barcodes/UPCs. While stocking shelves I had to make sure everything was properly organized, labels facing out, as well as making sure items were safely placed to make sure nothing fell. Working on the sales floor meant customers often required assistance in locating items, cleaning up spills, or even reaching for something out of range. Having patience and compassion was a large factor in delivering the best customer service while building a meaningful bond with our shoppers.

Maintenance and organization off of the sales floor was a large part of my work day. Prior to stocking the sales floor and loading U-Boats there was alot to clean up from left over shipments. Returning pallets and loading them up with products around the back room helped with future sales floor stocking as well as making sure the backroom was safe and organized. Sweeping the floor in the backroom as well as taking out the trash and properly disposing of any recycling not only helped our team have a clean working space, it also had a positive effect on the environment outside of the building, which is what we strive for anywhere we go.
