I recently became a CASA volunteer. I am a Court Appointed Special Advocate, I review documents and records pertaining to the child's case. Additional responsibilities require me to interview adult family members as well as other adults in the child's life. As a Court Appointed Special Advocate I am required to represent the child in court and provide written reports for court hearings.
Soroptimist International of The Sierras
I recently became a board member of Soroptimist International of The Sierras. Soroptimist International is a worldwide volunteer service organization for women who work for peace, and in particular to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. I was fortunate enough to be able to participate in the Dream it Be it conference held at the Oakhurst Community center at the beginning of this year as a table mentor to the young girls in our community.
JA USA's volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs that foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills. I was nominated by my sons first grade teacher to teach the Junior Achievement curriculum to his class this last year. It was a wonderful opportunity to be able to teach such wonderful little people about the importance of all community members and what it means to be an entrepreneur. The best part of the class was to expose first graders to what needs and wants are in terms of financial well being.
I am also involved in Pack 316 located in Oakhurst California. I was given the opportunity to be nominated Parent Committee Chair by our pack parents. I assist the Cub Master with pack functions and fundraisers.
