Full immersion into psychiatric nursing. Provided safe, quality care to both limited and high-functioning adults with various disorders. Conducted in-depth and routine assessments; administered medications; transferred orders; answered and directed phone calls; monitored and interpreted relevant lab values; collaborated and cooperated with physicians, PAs, dietitian, case managers, RNs, pharmacy, mental health workers, and housekeeping. Conducted a few discharges with education on illnesses, medications, and after care management. This was a rewarding and enlightening experience that spurred passion for a career in psychiatric nursing.

Clinical Rotation, ~100 hours, 02/2013 - 04/2013
Holland Hospital City, STATE,

First introduction to psychiatric nursing, CBT and DBT. Began to develop effective interactions and communication processes with patients. Documented and reflected upon nurse-patient verbatims; conducted in-depth, holistic psychosocial assessments; and developed relevant care plans.
