Currently serving as the executive head of the Bernardsville Police Department with responsibility to manage and oversee all aspects of agency operations. Responsibilities include the supervision of 18 sworn police officers, six full-time civilian employees and approximately 20 other part-time employees. Specific responsibilities include the day to day management and supervision of daily operations including but not limited to investigations, patrol activities, community programs, emergency police communications, personnel management and supervision, policy development, training, strategic planning, purchasing, grant acquisition and budgeting.
Directs and conducts the planning, activating, coordinating and delivering emergency management operations within the Borough of Bernardsville. Responsibilities include the supervision of part time two deputy coordinators as well as agency and community partners, serving as the chairperson for the Local Emergency Planning Council, serving as the local municipal representative to the Somerset County OEM and the New Jersey State OEM , planning and implementing the Borough Emergency Operations Plan, planning and executing exercises and drills, developing and implementing the Emergency Medical POD Plan, developing coordinating and facilitating the training of the Emergency Shelter Program and the operations of the local CERT Program.
Supervised and coordinated activities of the Patrol Division, Community Policing Programs, School Resource Officer Program, and the D.A.R.E. Program. Administered and facilitated staffassignments, training, special event planning, day-to-day operations, internal affairs investigations, policy formulation and emergency management planning and coordination.
Conducted, coordinated and supervised all criminal investigations including drug investigations, burglaries, fraudulent activity, thefts, assaults, sex crimes. Supervised and coordinated in-house diversion and community service programs. Utilized strong communication skills, the ability to plan and develop strategies, interviewing skills, crime scene processing and evidence collection skills, photography, the ability to coordinate with other agencies and strong independent management and supervisory skills.
Investigated major crimes such as burglaries, thefts, assaults, sex crimes and drug offenses utilizing strong communication skills, the ability to plan and strategize, interviewing skills, crime scene processing skills, photography and effective courtroom testimony.
Completed a six month temporary assignment investigating drug offenses, conducting interviews and interrogations, applying for and executing search warrants, conducting surveillance activities and intelligence gathering throughout Somerset County.
Conducted routine patrol, investigated crimes and complaints, facilitated traffic enforcement, and completed reports. Served as Crime Prevention Officer, D.A.R.E. Officer, and Explorer Post Adviser with the responsibility of creating, administering and facilitating various community crime prevention, community policing and youth programs.
