As Chaplain I offer ministry and spiritual guidance to patients, family members and caregivers within the Home, Nursing Home, Assistant Living Facilities and Hospital settings. Specifically, I work in an interfaith environment using a non-denominational style of counseling.
As Chaplain I help individuals and families work through their feelings associated with the loss of their loved ones before and after death. I help them determine how life can go on without their loved one, and consolidate memories in order to be able to move forward.
I also provide information about the normal grieving process, to help individuals understand that many of the symptoms and changes they are experiencing are a normal, temporary reaction to loss.
I also offer comfort and support to patients' families which includes.calming angry or emotionally distraught friends and family members of patients. I may conduct religious services in the hospital chapel, including officiating at memorial services and weddings. In some cases, l provide spiritual support to fellow staff members and care providers.
Serving the Community by participating in Service of Remembrance Ceremonies for Bereaved Families.
Support Volunteer Services by presenting Chaplain's Discipline during Volunteer training.
Present the Chaplain's Discipline during New Hire Orientation.
Participate in Holiday activities for patients at Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities.
Planned and participate in activities to encourage Caregivers.
Provide spiritual support to Capital Caring staff and Facility staff when needed.
