Packs and repacks a variety of hazardous and non-hazardous items. Independently determines the materials, containers, devices, and preservatives needed to prepare specialized materials and equipment for custom packing, shipment, and storage. Applies a variety of packing methods and techniques to meet regulations concerning the packing and transporting of hazardous materials Prepares documentation for hazardous materials to be packed, stored, and shipped including the visual assessment of their physical condition and their quantity, size, specialized handling and storage requirements. Uses manual and automated processing procedures and documentation requirements to prepare and verify shipping documents for correct safety and destination coding, classifications, and hazardous material handling criteria.
Thorough knowledge of supply regulations, manuals, policies, procedures and supply distribution management and inventory accountability concepts to plan, evaluate and conduct studies involving the receipt, storage and shipping operations in the organizations serviced. Ability to research, compile and analyze statistical data and information to prepare data summarization's and recommendations regarding functional operations, procedures, and resource utilization. Knowledge of the mission, organization, and work processes of supply programs throughout assigned organizational areas and their relationships to each other to assist in projects and studies involving workload analysis. Knowledge of automated systems (i.e., ECS, VTAM, DSS) and their interfaces with other systems relative to receipt, storage, and issue processes in order to analyze inventory systems problems. Knowledge and application of transportation regulations, policies, methods, procedures, and practices to perform a wide variety of transportation support assignments and to resolve problems involving a wide range of specialized shipments. Knowledge of the carrier industry, routing procedures, specialized shipment needs, and storage capabilities to arrange for complete routings, to determine the appropriate shipping method, carrier equipment, services, and special handling required. Specialized knowledge through formal training of technical/certifiable aspects of shipping hazardous material is required every two (2) years with a passing grade for retention in the position.
Thorough knowledge of agency, Federal, and international packing and shipping requirements for hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Detailed knowledge of a specialized techniques for preservation and custom packing and blocking and bracing of materials to reduce shifting. Thorough knowledge of overall warehouse procedures, space utilization techniques, and discrepancy coding. Ability to recognize materials which require specialized procedures to safely handle, pack, store, label, and ship hazardous materials within prescribed rules, regulations, procedures, and set guidelines.Knowledge of automated equipment includes such equipment as: computers, keypads, optical readers, scanners (bar code wands), etc. Position requires the knowledge, physical ability and Government license, to operate, and a license for an assortment of material handling equipment such as fork lifts (up to 10K), tugs, storage and retrieval vehicles, conveyors, robotic pallet manipulators, trucks, and other general purpose vehicles to move items to or from storage locations to processing areas.
Worked on varied special orders at Corpus Christi, TX, Texarkana TX, and Warner Robbins, GA with activity to improving inventory accuracy of material in location. Onboard with Inventory policy, instruction and procedure to perform proper inventory activity while impacting accuracy. Have a n overall knowledge of standardize DOD and DLA regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions pertaining to stock management in order to conduct searches for required information and to reconstruct records for complex supply transactions. Fully capable of data collection and evaluation techniques to identify and extract information, identify standard discrepancies, and prepare written reports and recommendation for corrective action. Have a vast knowledge of SOPs, job breakdown sheet (JBS) execution, supply regulations, manuals, policies, and procedures making me a skilled and efficient technician. Conduct training classes for employees three to five times weekly. Classes consist from 25 to 40 employees depending on their certification expiration date. Instruct CPR, Defensive Driving, Mandt, Drug Free Work Place, Residential Orientation I and II and coordinate with other training staff to conduct Proxy Care and other medical classes needed for employment and required by Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.
Develop and manage tracking reporting progress on employees. Organize and developed source training programs to meet specific training needs of each program under Albany Advocacy Resource Center's hierarchy. Identify and assess training needs for new and existing employees. Identify internal and external training programs to address competency gaps.Liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design.Inform employees about training options. Develop training aids such as manuals , handbooks, and PowerPoint presentations. Present training programs using recognized and effective training techniques and tools. Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instructions, virtual training, and on the job coaching. Manage and maintain in- house training facilities and equipment such as CPR manikins, smart board and class room setup.
Responsible for maintaining training records and certifications for over 300 plus employees including direct care staff and administrative employees. Established and maintain relationships with 12 supervisors and 6 directors to keep them informed with compliance of their employees. Provide feedback to program participants and management. Map out training plans for direct care staff. Track and report on training outcomes to state officials and members of the Albany Advocacy Resource Center board monthly. Evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology. Coordinate off-site training actives for direct care staff with individuals who are unable to attend due to their disabilities.
