Summary

History major with particular interest in fashion history and construction pursuing further experience in living history and reenactment. Experience in program building and implementation in a fast-paced environment in camp programming, political campaigns, and secretarial work in a law office.

Accomplishments
  • Harnessed a passion for historical garment making to sew a historically accurate 17th century ballgown, working through each decade of pre WWII fashion.
  • Passionate care and research into many 1770's historically accurate garments.
  • HOBY L4S Challenge Award
  • Over 500 recorded community service hours in 2019 alone.
  • Winner of scholarship and writing competition to HOBY Leadership Conference
  • Recipient of the Golden Shovel, an award given for outstanding leadership in the horse barn at the County Fair.
  • My Junior year, I applied to attend a college study abroad program through Hillsdale College. The program took place over NY Regents week, so to allow for me to attend this program if admitted, I took my regents test for each class early, without having completed half a year of class. I scored very high marks on these tests, with a 98 in U.S. History, though I did not complete the class.
  • Together with my peers and fellow staff members at a Christian summer camp, we created an entire virtual program, in the absence of our regular sleepaway camp. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the only course of action was to completely overhaul the schedule and create a virtual camp. This task was far more challenging then originally realized. We had very little time to create a completely new program, operating in real time, with little help. It was grueling work, but it was incredibly worth it. The entire staff was proud of the end result, and we were very proud of the positive response from campers.
  • As a young woman with an IEP, my school recommended that I should not take any AP courses. I did not take AP classes until my Junior year. I flourished in both my AP courses, and found that I rise to meet the obstacles before me. I am stronger because of them. To make up for lost time, I am taking as many AP and College course as I am able. I am signed up to take the AP World History test, without taking the class. I am attempting the same thing with AP Government, as my school does not offer the coarse.
  • Received a gold ribbon for community service in at least five different categories, five years in a row.
  • Capital Days Teen Planning Committee member for 4-H
  • Teen Leader for 4-H events and the youth fair.
  • Writing Club President 6/10/19- Present
  • 4-H Club President 7/2/19-Present
  • Three time 4-H Club Honor Secretary 7/3/16-7/2/19
  • 4-H Club Honor Treasurer 7/1/15-7/3/16
  • Capital Days delegate for 4-H 2021
  • Very involved with 4-H, experience with public presentation, animal care, sewing, writing, and photography. I have received a blue ribbon in many of my exhibits throughout the years
