  • Served as the first line of contact for the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
  • Process incoming inmates and arrestees by obtaining personal information, as well as photographing and fingerprinting.
  • Onboard inmates and arrestees information into computer-based information system and ensure timely processing of inmates in accordance with procedural requirements.
  • Review booking reports of inmates arrested in other districts to verify completeness and accuracy of reports.

  • Alert Intake Officers of medical emergencies, injuries, claims by new arrestee, suicidal tendencies, or other pertinent information.
  • Receive inmate and arrestee property receipts and store property in secure storage.
  • Properly book arrestee into jail center as indicted by arrest citation and complaint, court order, warrant of arrest or other suitable documentation.
  • Create and maintain specialized inmate files, insert booking records, and other documentation needed.
  • Responsible for gathering arrest documentation and assisting Intake Officers in preparing arrestee for initial court appearance.
  • Answer inquires to explain procedures, give status of individuals, verify information, and expedite processing of inmates.
  • Process inmates assigned to housing units and worked in the housing units when assigned.
  • Release inmates and arrestees from jail upon receipt of authorizing documentation.
  • Return inmates property upon release or transfer to other agency or institution and obtain required signatures.
  • Gather release documentation and prepare for transfer of inmates files to required records division.
