Created and maintained a professional book review blog online and created a professional relationship with many publishing companies. Frequently engage in trades with publishers, and am morally obligated to fully read and review books received from the publisher for that express purpose. Have gained an impressive number of readers in order to build a reputation in hopes of aiding career opportunities in the future.
Hired by Clayton Phillipp, an author, to be an editor and proofreader for his novel, "The Wild". I read through the book and corrected many grammatical and structural errors, as well as provided creative feedback regarding character and plot development, in addition to other areas. Also did extensive research to ensure accurate information and grammatical editing. Was able to complete job assignment in a timely manner to fit with the author's schedule.
Responsible for taking care of and providing for the needs of a one-and-a-half-year-old during the week, seven hours a day. Also responsible for a ten-year-old and seven-year-old on certain days as well. Helped nurture and teach the child during my time with him, and was responsible and trustworthy during my employment period with this family. Also worked many evenings and extra hours, even on short notice, to show they could rely on me in emergencies as well. Always arrived promptly and followed the directions of the parents regarding the well-being of their child.
Volunteered on a weekly basis, two hours a week, for the Salem Public Library in the Teen Center, and also participated as a member of the Teen Advisory Board. As a volunteer, I performed many duties of varying types and skill level. Often shelved books and organized them for more accurate record keeping and accessibility to patrons. Also did creative projects and various errands both inside and outside the library. Never was unable to complete a task.
As a member of the Teen Advisory Board, I, along with a small group of other twelve-to-eighteen-year-old students, helped in making ordering decisions with certain books through reading advanced review copies of novels, and also organized and volunteered at many teen center events, including fundraisers.
