I feel that I am a natural born leader. I have been a manager and instructor of different courses in the fields I have worked in for about 10 years and I was very passionate about leading my team of staff. I have always been a very understanding manager with my staff, and I believe in having empathy if they are willing to communicate their situation. I believe that I should not ask any of my staff to do anything that I am not willing to do myself and I am part of the team, so I get in there and work with them instead of just sitting in the office and letting them do all the work. Being the program/house manager over my clients was also one of my favorite things that I have ever done. It was joyful to me to make sure they had the best possible quality of life and care and did my best to make sure they were happy and had everything they needed and wanted.

I worked in a special education classroom that consisted of a combination of first and second graders. My duties included, but were not limited to:
Very similar responsibilities as above at Chrysalis, but on a much larger scale. I had 10-15 clients at any given time and 18-25 staff members depending on how many clients we had at the time. I also managed all of their bank accounts, I hired my own staff to work in the program, I did their financials and wrote monthly summaries on each of them at the end of each month, I managed the schedule for the staff and tried to accommodate days off and was on call 24/7 when we had staff that didn’t show up or that had called in, collected and analyzed data each month on their behaviors, oversaw their MARs and made sure the staff were properly trained on giving medication correctly and made sure there were no medication errors, I paid each of the clients’ rent, utilities, and any other bills that needed to be paid, took clients to doctors’ appointments, etc.
