1-Perform work for the wing organizations Knowledge Management Program.
2-Provides guidance and assistance to customers on a variety of support service functions to include, but not limited to, records management, Privacy Act (PA), Civil Liberties, and Freedom of information Act (FOIA).
3-Administers Records Management Program. Functions as the Base Records Manager (BRM). Maintains a centralized scheme of records management applications, policies, principles, standards, procedures, and guidelines including requirements for archiving information maintained in electronic format.
4-Performs work for the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) Programs. Progressively engages or turns on all systems operated by cockpit controls to include but not limited to aircraft engine, aircraft power unit, and brake systems. Reads data and settings from cockpit and instruments and gauges, referring to technical manuals, procedures, schematics, and other technical guidelines. Notes functionality and directs or makes adjustments and repairs as required. Determine when the nature and scope of the repair involves other trades since defects in one area often are shown by symptoms which appear in a different area. Responsible for grounding aircraft when the severity of a malfunction warrants it and may be responsible for releasing the aircraft to service after repairs are completed and tested. Interprets technical orders, manufacturers’ manuals, engine records, maintenance bulletins, etc., to obtain the technical information needed for troubleshooting, assembling, rigging and trimming propulsion systems/aircraft. Interprets trouble reports and operational parameters to make a diagnosis and determine propulsion system serviceability. Knowledge of startup, normal operation, abnormal symptoms, shutdown and emergency procedures of the aircraft/propulsion systems and the application of safety procedures in order to prevent damage to equipment or injury to personnel. Operate and possess knowledge of system integration for associated avionics, electrical, bleed air, hydraulics, lubrication and fuel systems to troubleshoot and perform maintenance using specialized equipment or tools for engine to aircraft systems operational airworthiness. Plans effective use of workers, equipment and facilities on a daily basis. Disassembles the engine or accessories to locate the defect; determines the cause of the defect; and the repairs needed. With knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
3-Received work assignments orally or through work orders. Independently determines the type and extent of repairs needed and completes the repairs with occasional spot checks during progress. Refers to operation logs, trouble reports, and technical manuals when locating and correcting defects and follows clearance and adjustment specifications found in technical manuals. The supervisor ensures that overall work meets accepted trade standards and provides assistance on unusual problems when requested. Provide on-the-job training (OJT) to lower grade workers on aircraft engine maintenance practices, technical aspects of new or unfamiliar engines or accessory systems, and safety procedures.
