Elementary Inten Company Name – City, State

Interned in a fourth-grade classroom for one quarter during my undergraduate study. Was responsible for reading and commenting on students' daily journals. I understood several points of view of students and became aware that not all students have the same ideology in the real world. Thus, I understood that not all students have the same focus in school when there is instability at home. I was able to identify with some students and learn from others. I was also in charge of giving students feedback on their written essays. Essays were in Spanish because the school is a bilingual immersion school. My proficiency in Spanish enabled me to provide further guidance to students for word dictation and syntax. I provided elaborated feedback on students writing, formed relationships with students through interactive journals, and recorded a geometry lesson video with a poster and cut out shapes. I was very observant about the feedback and videos that I posted for my students. I would take my time reading through all of the virtual instructions and took my newfound knowledge when giving
students feedback on their graphic organizers and essays. I based my feedback for students on the instructions/sample writing that the educator provided for them.

Volunteer Work

UC Davis Medical Center Volunteer

I volunteered in the Occupational therapy and Physical therapy centers of the UC Davis Medical Center. I aid certified occupational and physical therapists move patients from one location to another. I observed the therapy treatment given to patients. I learned that patience is the cue to teach someone who has an unstable health situation. Teaching someone how to become stable to become independent again is a step by step process. I observed and was part of the therapeutic lives of several youth and adults who struggled at the beginning of the session and left home satisfied. I helped therapists move patients down the walking rail, stand up from the wheelchair and rotate their bodies in the designed therapeutic beds.
