Additional Information

I started out my maritime career with MMT as a green deckhand shortly after attaining my associates degree at Pearl RIver Community College and worked my way up to Mate in around 3 years. In the time that I worked on the vessel I was responsible for training new deckhands, managing the deck crew, and conducting product transfer including fueling. I have since moved into the office where I assist with crew management and logistics. I also work along the other members of the operations department to ensure that the vessels continue to operate with as much efficiency as possible. My duties include ensuring that crew members hold the proper credentials for their positions and assisting with ensuring that things operate as smoothly as possible. The personnel department at MMT is responsible for the logistics side of crewing vessels including getting sick crew members to and from a boat and coordinating with all other departments to ensure mechanics and electricians as well as other service providers are able to get to and from the boat to fix any issues that may arise. I do not deal directly with costumers however I don't believe there would be any issues with this in regards to my ability to effectively communicate or maintain professional relationships with customers or suppliers. I also don't coordinator supplies however having effectively helped to manage close to 270 individuals I believe that this experience has made me a more well rounded individual. I have a very solid foundation in the marine industry with experience across a multitude of aspect of the river industry for the past 8 years. I am able to effectively communicate and to maintain my composure in stressful situations and act accordingly to mitigate or manage any issues that come up. I believe that my experience with people and ability to maintain a professional and personable approach with employees will be a valuable asset to EMIS and will be able to transition well into providing the customers with satisfactory services while also providing me with an opportunity to grow within the Ergon family.
