Followed Pastry Chef from The Village Bakery to Pittsford Farms Dairy. I assisted with all of the same responsibilities with the addition of some savory items such as quiche and pizzas, and the morning bake of the house pastries, danises, and croissants.
Began the business on my own. Offered private catering for weddings, graduations, or other large functions. Responsible for the ordering of materials, keeping the books, time management, delivery and set up, and customer satisfaction.
Assisted the Pastry Chef in managing the staff, creative design for the individual desserts case, fulfilling private orders, and consistently executing wholesale orders for the company's other restaurants; TRATA, Black & Blue, and JoJo Bistro. Often stayed late to help with last minute orders or inventory.
The program was essentially students working in a high production kitchen. Some of us were given opportunities to organize fine dining events and dinners. I took advantage of these opportunities.
In addition to business, I completely a culinary course, which included a Servsafe certification.
