I settle appointments with policyholders for quoting, selling and issuing property and casualty policies and surety bonds. This includes a very broad range of clients for business and personal insurance. I interpret coverage terms during the quoting process and after issuing policies. I translate the applying and excluded coverage within policy language during claims and for hypothetical situations. I meet with insurance company marketing representatives for the purpose of negotiating new business and existing policy retention incentives. This includes some negotiation of terms involving bonuses and commission.
I thoroughly review renewal offers for personal and commercial property, liability, package policies and surety bonds. I maintain a running list of policy expiration dates through a database calendar. I also take in renewal review requests directly from policyholders and insurance company underwriters. I manage how renewals are offered to the policyholder(s).
During the time frame of this position I had direct communication with a large customer base, in person and by phone and email. I set up appointments for agents meeting with policyholders. I created invoices, applied payments and tracked the billing of new policies and renewals, including for life and health insurance. I took in requests for policy changes. I filed claims including employer accident reports. I issued certificates of insurance and provided other forms of proof of insurance to policyholders, claimants, defense attorneys, insurance companies, property owners and municipalities.
I also reviewed detailed property inspections and assisted in the remediation of any needed repairs through information obtained from policyholders, contractors and in field observation.
