Professional Summary

My parents were both special education teachers, my sister is a speech pathologist and my brother works as a job coach for adults with disabilities. Helping people and going out of your way for others is in my families DNA. I have three years experience running and supervising a classroom for 15 adults with a variety of disabilities and ages. I was in charge of planning all lessons, activities and trips for my classroom. Throughout my three years I realized that I had a natural gift in developing routines, lessons and activities that were both fun, interesting, informative and engaging for my students. Teaching and caring for others is something that is inherent in me. It is something that I thrive doing and it is what I was put on this planet to do. I am a highly motivated, intelligent person who is never satisfied with their position and who will always strive for more. In the coming years, I hope to continue to better myself by attaining either a P.H.D. or E.D.D. in one of several different educational fields. I feel as though I have the leadership ability and capacity to have a drastic positive impact on the students, teachers, administrators and parents surrounding me.

  • Coordinated, planned, developed and implemented activities daily to meet each students Life Plan Goals.
  • Prepared and prepped the room each morning making sure all equipment and supplies were available for the lessons and activities planned that day.
  • Planned a minimum of four lessons a day where I factored in each students abilities, their needs, goals and interests in order to increase participation and engagement.
  • During lunch time I was responsible for keeping track of dietary restrictions, checking each students food in case of allergies and making sure each students lunch had appropriate portions according to their overall health guidelines.

  • Delegated and assigned work to each dock worker and made sure they had the equipment (pallet jack, forklift, empty pallets, shrink wrap) they needed to load their truck.
