Supports service members, DoD civilian employees, and family members in achieving short and long-term employment by referring for education and training and assisting with obtaining career opportunities.
Provides employment skills counseling and resources such as local labor market information, employment trend tracking, skills and interests identification, skills development workshops, job referrals and networks for
employment contacts, information fairs, and other on- and off-base resources.
Provides formal consultations customized to each individual customer’s needs including exchange of information, ideas, options, alternatives, possibilities, and plans of action with customers plus strong follow-ups
and/or referrals.
Provide resume development workshops, guidance, advice, and reviews for
civilian and federal resumes. Additionally conducts mock interviews when requested.
Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP): Responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining an Exceptional Family Member Program in coordination with installation EFMP components for Family Members
of active duty sponsors who have physical, developmental, emotional, or intellectual impairments/disabilities.
Assigned functions include command information and education, automated EFMP tracking, monitoring customer utilization of EFMP resources, activities, respite care, counseling and referral, advocacy, marketing, committee chairmanship, coordinating recreational and cultural activities, monitoring program compliance, and supervision.
Chairs the Garrison EFMP Committee comprised of representatives from Army Community Services, the Medical Treatment Facility, Military Personnel Division, Civilian Personnel Advisory Center, Staff Judge
Advocate, Public Affairs Office, Director of Public Works, Community Recreation Division, Child and Youth Services and School Liaison Officer.
Lead program outreach worker for 13 counties in northeastern Iowa, served as subject matter expert for advice and consultation on immediate
intervention with homeless Veterans. Often requiring ingenuity, managed internal controls, identified issues, utilized the social work process (psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, and treatment) in collaboration with interprofessional team members to develop holistic case management and consultation services including care plans to implement appropriate psychosocial treatment interventions and behavioral management strategies.
Participated in the treatment planning process with service providers and other interdisciplinary team members and participated fully in developing, planning, implementing and evaluating and following up on the needs of
the Veteran. Promoted successful disposition plans and continuity of care including consultation, community resources, advance directives, guardianship, commitments, VA benefits and other elements that may be specific to the care of the individual Veteran and families.
As a VA file clerk, prior to serving homeless Veterans, collaborated with VA healthcare providers to deliver safe
and timely service to Veterans by electronically scanning various health information documents into the VA imaging storage system. Confirmed record integrity and reviewed image quality and maintained the highest
degree of confidentiality of all health records.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Conducted outreach and interventions for homeless Veterans and their families for 13 counties in northeastern Iowa documenting the VA healthcare record for approximately 50 Veterans. Directly supplied clothing, food, transportation vouchers, conducted comprehensive assessments to determine eligibility for housing referrals IAW VA Homeless Veterans Policy policy.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Sustained 98% accuracy while processing over 30k patient records into the Vista Imaging and DSS system portal. Recognized for professional bearing then hand-picked for collateral duty as the section Timekeeping Official utilizing VATAS.
Despite additional duty as Timekeeper, rated one of the top 3 producers among all employees in the section during first year in the position.
Thoroughly assessed and monitored NCAA student-athlete’s academic needs IAW with NCAA and the university’s athletic department guidelines.
Used of open-ended questions to determine the type of tutoring assistance
that is most appropriate.

Collaborated with campus agencies such as the student health center, writing labs, registrar, and billing. Followed guidance to make appropriate referrals to the Associate Athletic Director and staff or the campus mental health center.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Documented over 70 comprehensive reports on student-athlete activities in the GradesFirst portal according to athletic department criteria and regularly receive overall Outstanding (90th
percentile) ratings from all student-athletes assigned and high praise from Athletic Directors and Supervisors. Original assessment conclusions and implications in all cases were appropriate and remained in place with no
modifications.
