Hello my name is Quinton Irick and I current work at the Medical University of South Carolina as a Systems analyst II / Instructional Designer II. My background involves 8+ years as a Certified Pharmacy Technician , where I obtained retail as well as clinical skills. My retail years (2004 -2007) involved me working at K-mart pharmacy, where I filled prescriptions and obtained customer service skills when assisting patients. I placed orders for inventory restock, and troubleshoot any hardware or software issues before consulting external help. My inpatient/clinical pharmacy technician experience began with my employment at the Medical University of South Carolina in the Adult Inpatient Pharmacy (2007 - 2012). Here I performed compounded sterile products and filled Acudose machines. I was high involved in the implementation of a new medication dispensing and inventory management system, the MedCarousel. As one of the sole implementers, I virtually built the systems layout, and trained end users on how the system functioned and how to properly use is. This implementation equipped me with great Project management experience. I also worked as the Inventory technician, where I placed all medication restock orders and assisted with yearly inventories. I accepted the position on the PharmIS team in July of 2012 where my duties transitioned to troubleshooting and assisting with all pharmacy information systems. I am currently working as a System Analyst II and Instructional Designer II since the implementation of the EPIC EHR in 2014. I serve as a Willow analyst on the Willow team, where I troubleshoot issues and help desk calls. I am also the Instructional Designer for the application. As the Instructional Designer, I prepare training materials and set up training scenarios to educate pharmacy staff, as well as assist other applications with training related issues. For the implementation, we hired Credentialed Trainers to conduct the classes. As the Instructional Designer, I lead the Willow credentialed trainers, educating them to ensure they were well equipped to train classes. Also evaluating their performance in the classroom and issuing disciplinary action as need for unprofessional behavior. With the current implementation of the Willow Ambulatory application, I conducted training for the outpatient pharmacy staff and specialty areas. I will also assist on floor support for the scheduled go-live, as well as continue to conduct new hire and refresher training post go-live.
