I verify insurance for both facility and physician fees for each surgery done in the OR. I then meet with each patient to discuss the doctor's recommendation, the pros and cons of surgery, the recovery instructions, and their financial obligation for the surgery fees. 

During my appointment with the patient, I process the paperwork, surgery orders, and consent forms into the surgery center's system, and after ensuring the patient is fully informed regarding the surgery, schedule them for the next available date. I am responsible for calling each patient one week prior to their surgery as a reminder, as well as to collect their financial obligation for the surgery. After receiving payment from the patient, I process the payment through each database and document it in our system. 

After their surgery, I follow up with the patient to ensure they are satisfied with their outcome and that all of their needs have been met.
