Robotics Engineer (Automation Deployment) Komatsu America Corp Oak Creek, WI,

Result oriented Robotics Engineer with 3 years of work experience in deployment, supporting daily operations of complex robotics installation. Area of expertise include troubleshooting hardware, software and electrical components of mobile robots, product development and robot fleet management.

Product Development, August 2020 - January 2021

  • Mobile robot lift Mechanism to retrieve broken bot out of the field for troubleshooting with less human effort, increased safety and better ergonomics for human operator.
  • Lift traverses vertical axis and offset axis by scissor lift, hydraulically actuated and lockable telescopic locking rail mechanism.
  • Performed Pilot testing to determine validity of the design in Solid Works performing stress strain test and latter reviewed by cross functional Engineering team.
  • Created BOM, purchased parts, machined custom made parts, assembled mechanism and further tested, validated mechanism and delivered to customer.
  • Designed a detailed sop for operation with pictorial representation as customer tend to use it to transfer bots from Prod to Dev.

Deployment and Support (Mobile Robotics), February 2019 - September 2021

  • Provided excellent service and attention to customers when face-to-face or through phone conversations.
  • Installation of complex mobile robotics system on customer site using Mechanical, electrical schematics and layout drawings by testing prototype products and systems during design and pre-production phases.
  • Developed a process with firmware engineer to generate trace output from mechanical components and electrical components like pcbas and sensors using GDB debugger to debug complex faults like commutation, current foldback error in mobile robots.
  • Worked with cross-functional team of firmware and software engineers to conduct test like GPA test for perception module, pivot encoder test, gathered and analyzed data to create trends.
  • Flashed firmware to fleet with new release and provide feedback to engineering and also implemented a process to bypass Radio Mac address with pcba ID.
  • Implemented use of Mac talk software for commissioning, updating firmware and validating operational parameters of JVL motors which run conveyor system.
  • Trained engineers and mechanics on customer site on maintenance of mobile robots and conveyors by creating SOPS, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance guide.
  • Coordinated with client daily to assign bots to technicians for repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Presented Weekly failure report and status of fleet for production and procured spare parts by holding weekly meeting with supply chain to curb cost and lead time.
  • Checked robotics system designs for conformance to quality control and safety standards.

Deployment and Support (RPS), September 2021 - Current

  • Providing customer hardware and software support during test production run by troubleshooting anomalies in hardware and software using K8's.
09/2017 to 01/2018
Robotics Intern Youth Enrichment League Northfield, MN,
  • Designed and Fabricated the automation line for plastic bottle manufacturing machine to pack bottles.
  • Fabricated line consisted of Universal-5 Robot, Keyence sensor, Conveyor, AFBS stopper and Wedge plate design.
  • Programmed 6 –degree of freedom Universal robot for pick and place operation.
  • Wedge plate design is ubiquitous of its kind, it helps in bottles land vertically on conveyor.
06/2017 to 08/2017
Robotics Instructor City Of Sunny Isles Beach Sunny Isles Beach, FL,
  • Mentored and Taught K12 students in the field of Robotics and Electronics on ‘Science of Smart Cities’.
  • Developed projects like Counting Moving Objects, Smart Trash Can, Water Quality Monitoring, using Arduino/Seeeduino Microcontrollers by programming sensors and actuators.
  • Designed the curriculum, training material and mentored team of six for expo and presentation held by National Grid.
06/2014 to 07/2014
Intern École Supérieure De Mécanique Et Des Microtechniqu City, STATE,
  • Concluded project ‘To Measure the Width of Silicon Wafer’.
  • Designed a prototype on Solid works to measure temperature of wafer which eventually helps in measuring the thickness/width.
  • Prototype resembled articulated arm type system.
