I work in the home of a private residence and provide respite care for a 14 year old boy with Autism.


Responsibilities

  • Help child socialize and make appropriate relationships. 
  • Goes along with child to events and community outings to assist with any behaviors that may come up.
  • Provide a fun and safe environment.
  • Educate and assist with hygiene, daily home chores, homework, interacting with peers, exercise and any daily life task that comes up.

I was hired to work in the Special Education transition program (REACH) with students aged 18-21. Also hired to work with special education students that were aged 14-18 in their core classes (math, reading, writing).
