Volunteer fostering homeless kittens and trapping feral cats for TNR rehabilitation.

I have been working as a volunteer for the Rock County Humane Society for three years as a kitten foster. I have fostered kittens ages 4 weeks and up who are feral, sick, injured, and homeless and needed socialization. I have administered medications both topically and orally and I have tracked weights and occasionally feeding schedules. I have advertised for the adoption of my fosters via Facebook. I have also worked with the Humane Society to trap, neuter, and release/relocate feral cats. This requires me to set traps and surrender trapped cats to Humane Society for neutering. I will occasionally rerelease said cat to the area he was captured.

Additional Information

Though I am currently majoring in Psychology, I plan to change majors within the next year. My new major will be Animal Behavior and Health. I am interested in a career working with animals and would like an opportunity to gain experience in this field. Volunteering with the Humane Society has shown me that I have a true passion for animals and I cannot imagine a life without them.
