I became a Newborn Care Specialist in 2013 after I realized that my true passion was working with newborns. I now specialize in Night Time Care of newborn ages 0-12 weeks. I worked with Jodi G. and baby girl as a night nanny. I would come into the home at night and have some time with Jodi before baby girl went to bed. I worked with baby girl to establish a healthy night sleep routine and worked with mom to establish a healthy day sleep routine.
I had the ability to work again with Alicia following the birth of her second baby. I assisted Alicia for two weeks following her cesarean delivery. I provided relief in caring for the baby to allow her to rest and assisted her in finding a routine that included her 1.5 year old boy.

As a CNA I worked in the newborn nursery of the Obstetrics Unit. I would care for up to four newborns as a time. My job duties included performing vital signs, recognizing normal and abnormal vital signs and reporting any adverse findings to the RN. Appropriately bottle feeding, and appropriately heating breast milk to feed. Newborn baths. Swaddling and soothing newborns. Performing newborn hearing screens and the California blood test.
